Free Parking

While there is no assurance of free parking near the Barcelona Aquarium, there are a few choices to consider if you’re on a low budget:

Avenida Diagonal

  • The area around Plaça de Pius XII, where Avenida Diagonal crosses Avenida de Pedralbes, has smaller streets with potential free parking spots. 
  • To get from Avenida Diagonal to Barcelona Aquarium by metro, you can take the L6 line from Diagonal station to Barceloneta station. It will take you 20 minutes. 

La Maquinista

La Maquinista boasts a large outdoor parking lot that is entirely free. 

Look for signs near the shopping center that indicate the location of the free parking lot.

Take a metro to Barceloneta station. You will reach it in 20 minutes.

Timings:

Sunday to Thursday: 8.30 am to 1.30 am

Friday and Saturday: 8.30 am to 3.30 am

IKEA 

The Ikea at L’ Hospitalet de Llobregat offers free, secure parking.

After parking, you can take the nearby metro, L2 line, to Barceloneta station. The journey takes 32 minutes.

Street Parking

Finding free street parking near the Barcelona Aquarium is an appealing option for budget-conscious visitors.

Although it can be challenging to find one due to strong tourist traffic, if you do find one, be cautious of parking zone requirements.

Many zones surrounding the Aquarium have Blue Zones (Zona Azul) with time limits. 

To legally park in these zones, you must first purchase a ticket from a neighboring meter, usually for 1 to 4 hours.
