History
The Burj Khalifa, completed in 2010, was conceived as part of Dubai’s ambitious vision to become a global city. Designed by architect Adrian Smith, its construction began in 2004 and involved over 12,000 workers. Originally named Burj Dubai, it was renamed to honor the UAE president, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in recognition of his financial support. The Burj houses luxurious residences, offices, and the Armani Hotel, and has become a symbol of Dubai’s innovative spirit and economic growth.
