Things to Know Before You Go

  • The trek to Vesuvius’ crater is optional and requires strong overall fitness. It lasts 20 minutes and is uphill at a 14-degree angle (approximately 1 mile).
  • The hike is primarily on soft ground, so appropriate footwear is required.
  • If you want a more leisurely experience, you can take a spectacular and educational walking tour of Vesuvius led by an expert geologist.
  • In the event of bad weather or strikes, the Vesuvius crater may be closed to visitors.
  • An alternative visit to the city of Positano will be included, giving you free time to explore the area.
  • Please be aware that, in the event of situations beyond our control, your itinerary may be changed to preserve the safety, quality, and happiness of your travel experience.
