This distance can be covered in approximately 35 minutes by walking. Other transportation options include taking a car, which takes about 12 minutes, or taking a bus or metro, which takes between 20 and 30 minutes. A taxi ride takes around 10 minutes.

To reach Park Guell, take the Blue Line 5 from Sagrada Familia Metro station to Diagonal Subway station. From Diagonal, transfer to Green Line 3 and get off at Vallcarca Subway station. Once you exit Vallcarca station, follow the signs and walk for 12 minutes to reach Park Güell. The duration of the journey is approximately 25 minutes. If you prefer a faster option, you can opt for the metro to Alfons X Subway station, which will get you there in 12 minutes.

To take a bus from Sagrada Familia to Park Guell, you need to walk 5 to 10 minutes to reach the intersection of Passeig Sant Joan and Carrer Corsega. Then take bus number 92, which will take you to the East Gate of Park Guell. The ride will take less than 30 minutes. You can also take the V19 bus from the intersection of Passeig Sant Joan and Carrer Corsega to Park Guell. Get off at C N Catalunya; from there, it will only take a 2-minute walk to reach Park Guell.

To get from Sagrada Familia to Park Guell by taxi, you can take a taxi from the stand at Plaça Sagrada Família, 17, Eixample.  The taxi ride takes around 10 minutes and costs approximately €8 to €10. The taxi will take you up the hill to Park Guell, and you will be dropped off at the entrance. Remember that traffic can be heavy in Barcelona, especially during peak hours, so that travel time may vary.

Walking Directions:

1. Exit Sagrada Familia and head south on Carrer de Mallorca.

2. Turn right onto Passeig de Sant Joan.

3. Continue on Passeig de Sant Joan until you reach Carrer de Sardenya.

4. Turn left onto Carrer de Sardenya and walk until you reach Carretera del Carmel.

5. Turn right onto Carretera del Carmel and walk until you reach the intersection with Avinguda de Pedralbes.

6. Cross Avinguda de Pedralbes and continue walking uphill on Carretera del Carmel.

7. Park Guell will be on your left, about a 2-minute walk from the intersection with Avinguda de Pedralbes.

Tips for a Safe Walk

  • Take safety precautions and obtain the area’s Google Maps before strolling. There might not be many English-speaking locals available to help you find your way. 
  • Remember that the walk includes some uphill sections, which will be more strenuous in the summer heat.
  • You can choose to visit Park Guell first and then go to Sagrada Familia because of the walk’s incline.
