Jazz at Bran Castle
One of the most exciting and expected events at Bran Castle itself is the ‘Jazz la Castelul Bran.’
This festival has become a key and most important event in this castle, where world-famous artists perform.
- 10th edition (August 25-27, 2023): Jazz performances across three stages, with artists from 13 countries, including Italy, Canada, England, Sweden, Norway, Bulgaria, Germany, Switzerland, New Zealand and Romania.
The festival showcased diverse musical styles, from nu-jazz to experimental fusion.
- 8th Edition (August 27-29, 2021): The 2021 edition featured a stellar lineup, including Iskandar Widjaja, Itamar Golan, and the dynamic duo Biondini & Falschlunger.
It also showcased Alexi Tuomarila, Kalevi Louhivuori, and the accomplished Norwegian musicians HÃ¥kon Kornstad and Frode Haltli.
- 7th Edition (August 23-25, 2019): Artists like Daniele di Bonaventura, Giovanni Guidi, and the Tord Gustavsen Trio graced the stage.
This edition was marked by traditional and contemporary jazz elements.
- 4th Edition (August 26-28, 2016): The 2016 festival, which featured Giovanni Ceccarelli, Daniele di Bonaventura, and the Giovanni Guidi Trio, was a blend of solo performances and collaborative acts.
- 3rd Edition (August 28-30, 2015): This edition saw performances by Luca Aquino, Carmine Ioanna, and Stefano Bollani. The lineup included a mix of European jazz greats.

- Dracula – The Kiss in the Black Church (20 November 2018): Romanian actress and playwright Nicole Dutu launched her debut novel at Bran Castle.
Titled “Dracula – The Kiss in the Black Church,” the book intertwines police intrigue with supernatural elements against a historical backdrop.
- Fairy Tale Fun for Children (1 June 2015): Celebrating International Children’s Day, this event transformed the castle into a wonderland of knights, ladies, and artisans.

- European Night of Museums (16 May 2015): This annual event invited visitors to explore Bran Castle after dark.
The nocturnal tours, illuminated by moonlight, offered a unique and eerie experience, blending history with the supernatural.

On 25 February 2019, the castle’s “Stone” elevator won the Special-Purpose Lifts award. Part of the Time Tunnel, this innovation showcases Romanian creativity and professionalism.
Themed Events and Festivals
- Halloween at Bran Dracula’s Castle (29 October 2023): A special tour of the castle with an after party in the Royal Park’s grand tent for adults after 9 pm.
Eerie celebrations take place amid spooky decorations, chilling surprises, horror music, fantastical characters, unique projections, authentic film props, and delightful candies for the little ones.
The dimmed lights, creaking floors, and rich red wine create an unforgettable atmosphere, which is enhanced by a Time Tunnel special show and a shot of black vodka.
- Chat Noir, Chat Blanc (4-5 July 2015): This event brought together cat enthusiasts to admire a range of feline breeds, from Maine Coons to the rare Don Sphynx.
- Valentine’s Day (14 February 2014): Celebrated with a touch of gothic romance, Bran Castle invites couples to revel in the legend of Dracula.
