How to Reach

The Gallery is easily accessible, as it stands near the famous Giotto’s Tower and is close to Florence Duomo.

Train accessibility:

  • Santa Maria Novella station is the closest to the Gallery, a 2-minute walk away.

Bus Services:

  • Bus lines 6, 11, 13, 14, 23, or 21 will get you closest to the Gallery. The nearest stops are Battisti San Marco and Museo di San Marco, which are 2 minutes away on foot.

How to reach Accademia Gallery

Entrance

You will find the main entrance to the Gallery between Piazza del Duomo and Piazza San Marco in a small lane on Via Ricasoli 60.

Rules & Regulations
  • All visitors must pass a security inspection through a metal detector before entering the Gallery.
  • The Gallery does not allow weapons, knives, or other sharp objects; you must leave them behind at the detector.
  • If you bring along large bags or a helmet, you cannot enter the gallery since there is no cloakroom for its storage.
  • Only water bottles that hold less than half a liter are allowed inside.
  • The Gallery is entirely wheelchair accessible.
  • If you combine your visit with the Uffizi Gallery, begin with the Accademia Gallery first. Accademia Gallery is usually more crowded than Uffizi, and it’s best to complete this attraction first.
  • If you are unable to find anyone at the meeting point to exchange your online booked voucher for a ticket, you can exchange it at the ticket booking desk.
  • We don’t recommend booking tickets from the official website during the peak season, as tickets are sold in 15-minute intervals. You will also have to collect it from the desk, which is difficult since the entry lines move slowly.
  • If you’re looking for places to leave behind your beverages, you can request the front desk to hold them for you while you explore. However, this might not be possible when there is a huge crowd.
  • We do not recommend visiting during the peak tourist season since even with skip-the-line access, visitors need to wait for at least an hour or so because of the crowd.
