How to Get to Spanish Riding School

The Spanish Riding School is at Michaelerplatz 1, 1010 Wien, Austria, between Michaelerplatz and Josefsplatz within Hofburg.

Vienna is highly accessible by public transport, and since the Spanish Riding School is located in the city center, there are many ways to get to the Spanish Riding School.

The connectivity extends within walking distance from the tourist attraction.

If you are coming from the northeastern side, from Ringstraße or Floridsdorf, you can take Tramway 2 or Tramway 62.

The nearest station to the Spanish Riding School is Oper/Karlsplatz U.  The same stop is also on Tramway 1 and Tramway D.

So if you are coming from Volksgarten, you will take Tramway D to the Burgring stop. This point is also on Tramways 1 and 2.

Tramway 1 will be your preferred path if you travel from the Vienna State Opera.

By Metro

While traveling by metro, the most convenient option is the U3 Line, which makes a stop at Herrengasse station. This is a brief four-minute walk away from the Spanish Riding School.

If you are between Floridsdorf and Simmering, you will likely find your way to the attraction.

Another great option is the U1 Line. You will get off at Stephansplatz station, which is 700 meters away.

It is a very convenient option if you are close to Leopoldau and Oberlaa, and are traveling between the North and South.

The U2 Line connects the Northeast to the South, so if you are on the Seestadt Aspern side, go to Karlsplatz station. It is a 1 km walk to the Spanish Riding School.

Another line connecting to the Karlsplatz station is the U4 Line between Heiligenstadt and Hütteldorf.

By Bus

You can choose three different routes if you prefer to travel by bus.

The best option is Route 2A, which will drop you at Michaelerplatz, right next to the Spanish Riding School.

Schwarzenbergplatz and the Friedrich-Engels-Platz are the endpoints of this bus route.

Wien Schwarzenbergplatz and Wien Rennweg are connected by Route 3A, which will drop you off at Habsburgergasse, only 200 m away.

If you are between Stefan-Fadinger-Platz and Praterstern, take Route 1A and stop 300 m away at Herrengasse.
