Xcaret Temazcal

Xcaret Temazcal is a special sweat lodge ceremony that is a part of the ancient traditions of Mexico. 

It’s available for visitors at Xcaret Park, in the Yucatan Peninsula.

At the start of the ceremony, visitors learn about the history and importance of Temazcal. 

Then, everyone goes inside a small round building made of clay and stone called a Temazcal.

Hot stones are placed in the middle of the Temazcal, and water is poured over them to create steam, making it warm and humid inside. 

The guide leads visitors in traditional chants and prayers while they think about their intentions for performing the ceremony.

During the Temazcal ceremony, visitors focus on their breathing and think about their inner selves. 

The warmth and humidity of the Temazcal are said to have healing properties that help relax and detoxify the body.

Things to remember:

• The activity lasts for 60 minutes.
• The activity is offered at three different times: 12:30 p.m., 2:00 p.m., and 3:30 p.m.
