The closest bus stop near the Rijksmuseum is Ruysdaelkade Bus Stop, a one-minute walk away. 

Some buses that will get you to this stop are 321, 324, 37, 397, 357, 41, N22, N26, N47, N57, N82, N83, N84, N86, and N97.

You can also hop on Bus Number 397 from the Amsterdam Schipol Airport’s B17 terminal, which leaves every 8 to 10 minutes.

Another bus stop that will get you within walking distance from the Musuem is the Leidsplein bus stop, a 9-minute walk from the Museum.

You can also hop on this line from the Centraal station to get directly to the Vijzelgracht Metro Station near the Rijksmuseum.

The Metro Line 52 runs from 5.35 am to 12.45 am from Monday to Saturday, and from 7.35 am to 12.45 am on Sundays.

The closest tram station near the Rijksmuseum is the Amsterdam Rijksmuseum Tram Stop, a 2-minute walking distance from the Musuem.

Tram lines 1, beginning from Muiderspoortstation, and 19, from Station Sloterijk, lead to this stop.

Train Ride to Rijksmuseum

The closest train station near the Rijksmuseum is the Amsterdam Museumplein Stop, a 4-minute walk away. 

You can take the Intercity (IC) trains, active from 5.50 am to 3.40 pm, on all days of the week to get to Rijksmuseum. 

If you’re at Centraal station, you can board the SPR trains, which are Sprinter trains, which will take you directly to the museum.

However, IC trains are the faster option. 

Train Ticket Details

You can book a reservation for the Intercity trains online 120 days before you visit the Rijksmuseum.  

Visitors can choose between first and standard-class seating, and the ticket prices increase the later you book your seat. 

You can also buy the tickets from a ticket machine or the train station ticket counters.

Take road Sint Antoniebreestraat and Oudeschans to get to Mr. Vissenplein, before driving onto Weesperstraat. 

Turn right onto Stadhouderskade and drive straight and you will spot the Rijksmuseum on the right side of the street!

You can also reach the Musuem from the Van Gogh Musuem in 11 minutes via S100!
