Parking in Prague: Where to park near Prague Castle?

Located close to the metro stop Hradčanská and a kilometer from the castle, this parking lot provides the most convenient and cheap parking in Prague 1.

‘Parking near Castle’ is a car park and on-street parking located 1.1km from Prague  Castle.

You can reach the castle entrance via a 15-minute walk from this parking lot.

4. MR. PRAKRIT Parking

Numerous MR. PRAKRIT Parking lots are available throughout the city. One of them is located near the castle.

Although it is a little far, it’s an ideal choice for affordable medium-term and long-term parking in the center of Prague.

To park at their lots, you just have to book in advance via their website and receive a parking spot and number to call.

Once you roll up at the gate, you must call that number and hang up once the line is busy. The entrance will open automatically.

It is a perfect choice if you are looking for weekend or overnight parking in Prague.

Different types of parking zones are available throughout Prague City for on-street parking: blue, purple, orange and green.

1. Blue Zones in Prague (so-called Resident Parking): 

Blue parking zones are reserved for residents and they cost more.

If the board doesn’t mention it, you should avoid parking your vehicle there; otherwise, you risk a parking claw, or the car will even be towed away.

However, sometimes these zones provide parking to non-residents on a limited basis (maximum 3 hours), as mentioned on the parking board.

2. Purple Zones (Mixed Parking)

These are indicated by a purple stripe on the traffic sign and only valid parking permit holders can park here without any restrictions.

Others can use them for a maximum of 24 hours after paying the parking fee at a parking meter or online in the Virtual Parking Hours app.

The basic operating hours of the parking zone when payment is required are 8 am – 8 pm, and parking in the evening/night parking is generally free.

You can use these zones for medium-term parking by paying the parking fees.

3. Orange Zones (Visitor Parking)

Orange zones are recognizable by the orange stripe on the road sign and the white horizontal stripe on the road.

They provide parking for visitors on a short-term basis, i.e., for a maximum of 2 hours. The fees are about 30 CZK (€ 1.20 or $1.30) per hour.

Parking can be done after paying at a parking meter or via the web app.

The same 8 am to 8 pm opening hours are applied for this zone; parking is free outside of these hours, usually in the evening and at night.
