First day of Lent: Ash Wednesday

The Holy Father organizes the events held in the Vatican and brings you closer to God and the people around you.

It all begins with Ash Wednesday, which falls on Valentine’s Day in the year 2024 and offers an excellent opportunity to get blessings from the Pope on this Holy day.

On Ash Wednesday, Catholics apply a cross made of ash on their foreheads, which symbolizes that they were created from dust and will return to dust when they die.
