Best Time of the Day

The best time to visit the Borghese Gallery is as soon as it opens at 9 am.

Please avoid booking the time slot at 11 am because it is the most popular, and the gallery will be full.

The next best time is either the 1 pm or 5 pm slot, which must be reserved at least a week in advance.

Arrive at least 45 minutes before your scheduled time. This will allow you to pass the security check and store large items like backpacks.

Best Time of the Week

Weekends are typically crowded with tourists, so choosing a time slot during the weekdays is ideal to avoid crowds.

Avoid going on the first Sunday of the month, when admission is free and crowds are high.

Book your Borghese Gallery tickets a few weeks in advance to ensure you get best time slot.

Low Season vs Peak Season

Spring is an excellent time to visit Villa Borghese, especially from mid-March to the end of April (excluding Easter week).

Temperatures are rising, spring colors are emerging, and crowds have not yet peaked.

The annual Villa Borghese event highlight is May’s world-famous international horse show.

Avoid traveling during the peak tourist season from June to September as the attraction will be crowded, and hotel prices will be high.

If you can’t go in the spring, late September to early November is an excellent time. The temperatures are ideal and visitor numbers begin to decline.

Furthermore, the changing colors in the Villa Borghese Park are a fall highlight in Rome.

How Long Does it Take to Visit the Borghese Gallery

The Borghese Gallery usually takes about 2 hours to explore.

The museum has a strict 2-hour visit time limit, and visitors must leave the Gallery afterward.

This ensures that all visitors have an equal opportunity to enjoy the collection without being crowded and to protect the artwork from overexposure.
