Metro Line A—Flaminio is located in the heart of Piazza del Popolo, at the fountain with lions and an obelisk.

Things to Know Before You Go
- The trek to Vesuvius’ crater is optional and requires strong overall fitness. It lasts 20 minutes and is uphill at a 14-degree angle (approximately 1 mile).
- The hike is primarily on soft ground, so appropriate footwear is required.
- If you want a more leisurely experience, you can take a spectacular and educational walking tour of Vesuvius led by an expert geologist.
- In the event of bad weather or strikes, the Vesuvius crater may be closed to visitors.
- An alternative visit to the city of Positano will be included, giving you free time to explore the area.
